A totally new, unique and professionally guided Eco-tourism mountain bike tour that brings you to the heart of Kenya's Digo Community. Your tour will last around 4 hours during which time you will visit the Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest (Kaya-Swahili Home) , which is a protected living museum of the Digo peoples traditional culture. The rain forest offers a cool and diverse ecosystem that contrasts with the warmer outside and the vast canopy that looms above the Kaya welcomes you into fresh, tranquil and spiritual environment.

As you walk through the forest you will experience rare and indigenous wildlife species including monkeys and birds as well as learn about the healing properties of the local plant and tree species that have been used effectively by the local people for hundreds of years. After emerging from the sacred forest, your guide will lead you through the local coconut, cashew and maize plantations, burial grounds and the homesteads of the local people. Passing through the clean and shady local dwellings on your Shimano mountain bike you will experience the everyday activities of the Digo people, maize pounding, harvesting, weaving, farming and cooking to name a few. In the heart of the community is the homestead of the traditional herbalist or "Mganga" (Swahili-Witchdoctor).
Here you will experience a truly Authentic, traditional and magical treatment of an inflicted person. This ceremony has been used by the Digo people for centuries and is still today used as an effective spiritual and herbal alternative to modern medicine. After the ceremony you will be shown local cooking techniques and enjoy some traditional refreshments and snacks, you might also like to barter "Biashara" (Swahili-Trade) for authentic local merchandise from the women's group "Duka" (Swahili - Shop). Finally you will visit the local school and have a chance to interact with the kids and teachers.
